"Crescendo du noir II" reveals the precision and rigour characteristic of the Brazilian artist's work. Working the copper plate with a gouge, Piza cuts recessed geometric forms that give the image an almost sculptural relief. The triangular motifs, in a gradient of deep blue, meticulously structure the composition.
