This etched portrait by the artist of his brother-in-law Vilhelm Hammershøj is probably the most sought for of all the artist's graphic works: Whereas almost all copies of this etching - as the majority of his early etchings in generally were rarely handsigned, this copy is handsigned in pencil. It is probably printed by the artist himself for his own collection and the provenance is the decendants of the artist. There is some light discolouration in the right side of the paper - mainly in the margin - otherwise it is in fine condition.
